The Kashgar region is the main battlefield of the "coal to power" project in southern Xinjiang, accounting for 53.3% of all transformation tasks. Li Mingcai, director of the development and construction department of the Shufu County Power Supply Company of the State Grid Kashgar Region, said that the construction of supporting power grids includes transformer capacity expansion, superior power supply upgrades, and distribution network transformation. After the line transformation, the average household electricity consumption capacity has been increased from 0.4 kW to 4 kW to meet the power needs of farmers and herdsmen.
